Overview

Full-stack AI ATS built as a university final-year project. The system ingests resumes, extracts structured data via NLP, scores candidates against role requirements, and surfaces ranked shortlists for recruiters.

The Challenge

Traditional ATS relies on keyword matching — a poor proxy for actual fit. The goal was a smarter system using semantic similarity and learned role-specific patterns rather than exact keyword hits.

Solution

Django REST backend with spaCy and a custom deep learning pipeline for resume parsing and role matching. Named entity recognition extracts skills, experience, and education. A fine-tuned similarity model ranks candidates by semantic fit. React frontend provides a recruiter dashboard with shortlists, scoring breakdowns, and batch upload.
